The Kenyan Boys Choir will perform on Quadra July 9.

The Kenyan Boys Choir will perform on Quadra Island at the Quadra Community Centre on Monday, July 9 at 7 p.m. after participating as “Choir in Residence” at the world-renowned Kathaumixw International Choral Festival in Powell River.

The choir is composed of 24 young men aged 14-25 years from various backgrounds and tribes in Kenya.  Founded in Nairobi in 1998 by conductor, Joseph Muyale Inzai, the boys were personally selected and given the chance to change their lives by bringing them together to perform music.

In live performances, the Kenyan Boys Choir dress in tribal costumes and perform choreographed dance routines which add to the vitality of this extraordinarily talented group of young men. The Kenyan Boys will transport you to a land of sun-drenched savannah and vibrant colours with their big smiles, their warmth and their hopeful message.

Tickets for the July 9 concert by the Kenyan Boys Choir on Quadra, are available at the door only.  Tickets are:  $10 Adult; $5 Student/Senior; $20 Family.  For more information, call 285-3737, or 285-2580. Find more at www.kenyanboyschoir.org
