The annual Rotary Honours Concert brought some of Campbell River's best dancers and musicians to the stage of the Tidemark Theatre Saturday to the delight of those in attendance.

Organizer Suzie Moscovich says the annual event began as simply "as a way to show the community the scope and breadth of what's offered in our town for our youth," and has continued to grow over the years.

Moscovich began the concert six years ago after she and her husband had been running annual "black tie optional" galas at their home to raise scholarship money for local youth interested in performing arts, and Rotary wanted to do something similar on a broader scope, so she jumped on board.

This year's event featured dancers from Urban Dance Connection, Solstice Studio and CR DanceXtreme, the Phoenix Middle School Band, the Campbell River Legion Pipe Band, two young Celtic fiddlers and one young pianist.

After audience vote, the winners of the People's Choice Awards on the night were Maddie Erickson and Max Sander for Small Group and the Solstice Studio Hoop Team for Large Group.

All participants in the event receive a $100 award for their participation, with the winners of the People's Choice Awards receive $300.
