At an upcoming workshop put on by the city, realtors will be able to learn about the benefits of home energy efficiency and how to use energy efficiency as a selling feature.
The workshop on April 14 at the Maritime Heritage Centre will ensure that realtors get the scoop on the most recent rebates available for their clients.
They will gain knowledge on the benefits of energy assessments in determining the value and comfort of a house. Also, they will learn about the brand new EnerGuide rating system that is set to launch April 1 – and how homes can be labeled with their EnerGuide ratings.
The City of Campbell River will bring real estate agents the “Realtor Lunch N’ Learn – Energy Efficiency” workshop, on Thursday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Maritime Heritage Centre (621 Island Hwy).
“This workshop will provide real estate agents with the knowledge and tools to make energy efficiency an asset in sales,” explains Amber Zirnhelt, community planning and development services manager. “Agents will also learn about new rebates that will be available as part of the second phase of our Power Down Campbell River (PDCR2) program.”
Join Chris Wiebe of Verdatech Energy Management & Consulting Inc. and Rob Grey of Rob Grey Realty and ReMax to learn about energy efficiency in realty, energy assessments, rebates, the new EnerGuide rating system and how understanding a home’s energy efficiency can help you and your clients!
“This workshop will keep realtors up to date on the latest in energy efficiency programs in their field,” adds Councillor Marlene Wright, who holds the environmental portfolio on Council.
“By taking advantage of this workshop and learning about the PDCR2 rebate program, realtors can help the community save money on energy spending and lower greenhouse gas emissions by reducing home energy consumption.”
The event is free, but realtors must register to attend.
