Matthew Krell (second from left) is the winner of the 2014 Virginia Graczak Music Scholarship (VGMS) piano award of $2000. From left to right, are Sarah Hagen, adjudicator and concert pianist, Krell, Shelley Roberts, piano teacher, and Susie Moscovich, scholarship founder. The VGMS, started in 2001, is a music Scholarship named after Moscovich’s piano teacher and is open to all music students in School Districts 71 and 72. The VGMS awards for piano and voice are administered by the CR Friends of Music. This scholarship is meant to encourage talent in the young people in our community along with a love of music and art in general.
