Multifaceted Atmosphere returns to Cumberland

Second annual Atmosphere Gathering features beat-driven music, dance, art and workshops

Coming off a rousing inaugural a year ago, Atmosphere Gathering returns to Cumberland Aug. 14-16 for a second year of engaging visuals and inspiring sounds from across the musical spectrum.

Nestled in the quaint mountain town, a growing village of independent entrepreneurs, herbalists, mountain bikers, and good old boys give this festival a wonderful all-around feel. Atmosphere Gathering is a beat-driven dance festival with live and electronic music, family friendly and locally produced.

The 2015 Atmosphere lineup stands on its own.

Nahko and Medicine for the People, Rising Appalachia, Humans, David Starfire, as well as North Island favorites such as, Five Alarm Funk and Nicodemus, will headline three stages of genre-melding madness. Fort Knox Five, Plantrae, Kaminanda, Michael Fraser and Mat the Alien, as well as Blue King Brown front woman’s new project, Nattali Rize and Notis, ensure Cumberland and the North Island’s diverse musical palette will be well satisfied.

Atmosphere Gathering is not just a music festival. It represents lifestyle choices that promote healthy solutions to environmental and social issues, as well as a balanced approach to celebration. Attendees enjoy artistic wonders, contemporary dance performances and stimulating workshops.
