Local artist pairs well with Courtenay winery

Sonia Hauser's work will be on display at Blue Moon Winery this fall

As fall embraces the natural world during the month of September, the Blue Moon Winery in Courtenay will be pairing its palate pleasers with Campbell River visual artist, Sonia Hauser.

This is a beautiful time of year to sample marvellous wines and ciders amid paintings that glory in nature.

Ms. Hauser’s art is displayed in a cozy and alluring setting amid stools arranged around old fashioned kegs. She has lived on the Island for almost forty years and considers herself a West Coast woman. She teaches music professionally, and her  art work encompasses the same elements of colour, texture and movement that define her professional day. Most of the works are oil and play between the realms of realism and abstract art.

On Sunday, Oct. 2, between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m., a reception will be hosted at the winery with the artist in attendance.   You are cordially invited to spend a cozy and lovely Fall afternoon in this very appealing setting!

The winery is open from Thursdays to Mondays from noon to 5 p.m., and can be found at 4905 Darcy Rd., Courtenay.
