The Carihi Jazz Band joins The Little Big Band this Friday for a Valentine’s Dance at Carihi. The family-friendly event is also a fundraiser for the jazz band to help pay for travel costs to out of town events.

Jazz up your Valentine’s Day

The Carihi Jazz Band and The Little Big Band will be joining forces this Fiday at 7:30 p.m. for a dance in the Multi Purpose Room at Carihi.

The Carihi Jazz Band and The Little Big Band will be joining forces this Fiday at 7:30 p.m. for a dance in the Multi Purpose Room at Carihi.

The Carihi Jazz Band will perform the first set from 7:30 to approximately 8:15 p.m.

Following a short intermission, The Little Big Band will play until about 9:45 p.m.

The evening will end with a few songs by both bands playing together (a Really Big Band).

This performance is a fundraiser for the Carihi Jazz Band to help cover costs for travelling to music festivals this year and to the Whistler International Festival next year.

This is a family dance, everyone is welcome.

It will be a coffee house atmosphere, and appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided throughout the night. Admission is by donation at the door.

The Carihi Jazz Band is made up of students in grades 10 through 12 who rehearse every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:30 a.m.

The Little Big Band is made up of Campbell River musicians who love to play big band jazz music and rehearse every Monday night in the Carihi band room.
