The lineup has officially been announced for this year’s running of Atmosphere – the annual music and arts festival held each August in Cumberland – and it looks like it’ll be yet another winner of an event.

Scheduled for August 18-20 this year, Atmosphere is a festival filled with three stages of musical perfomances, workshops, art, colour and fun.

This year’s musical performers include the dynamic Montreal-based quartet Half Moon Run, genre defying producer CloZee, synth-pop band DiRTY RADiO and revolutionary violinist Kytami, who also happens to have won the Live Act of the Year award at the 2013 Vancouver Island Music Awards to accompany her 2103 Western Canadian Music Award for Electronic/Dance Recording of the Year.

Half Moon Run is made up of a quartet of multi-instumentalists who have been receiving high praise internationally for their three-part harmonies and driving bass and percussion lines and have landed gigs at such festivals as South by Southwest, Osheaga and Glastonbury. They have also opened for bands the likes of Metric, City and Colour and Mumford &Sons.

CloZee, based in Toulouse, France, has been playing classical guitar since the age of 11 and producing electronic music since 16. Her unique style of blending powerful basslines with funky percussion, various world instruments and sounds from the natural world has seen her booking shows all across the globe, including performances in India, Germany, Ukraine and Israel, along with festivals a bit closer to us, such as Coachella and Shamballa.

Kytami is a musician the likes of which many have never seen. She blends classical fiddle syles with the heavy bass of dubstep and hiphop to produce a stage show that will absolutely blow you away. It’s done so for music fans from Germany to Hong Kong and everywhere in between, and it’s sure to do the same to those who attend Atmosphere.

Tickets for the festival are currently in the Tier 2 phase of sales, where a weekend pass for the festival is $149. Walk-in tenting camping passes are an additional $40 for the whole weekend.
