Want to know what roller derby is all about?

The Tidemark Theatre is presenting a special one night showing of the documentary, Derby Baby.

This event will be hosted by the Rink Minx Roller girls, who will be on hand to get down and ‘derby’ with all attendees.

Derby, Baby! explores the drama, friendships, and the addictive nature of women’s roller derby, including never-before-seen footage of the international flat-track roller derby championships. The film, narrated by singer/actress Juliette Lewis, sets out to answer the question: Why is women’s roller derby the fastest growing sport in the world?

DerbyBaby! showcases professional and amateur skaters from around the globe, including Ireland, Brazil, Finland, France, as well as the United States and Canada. Get introduced to some of derby’s rock stars like Suzy Hotrod, DeRanged, and Tannibal Lector, who share their knowledge and personal stories about the game. The film also provides the audience with a crash course in the history, culture and challenges of roller derby today.

Join in the excitement of the roller derby movement and meet your local derby teams this January 9th, at the Tidemark Theatre! Tickets are twelve dollars with one dollar being donated to local derby when you mention your team affiliation.
