CR DanceXtreme Inc. recently had their senior dancers audition in Vancouver in late April to represent Team Canada at the IDO Hip Hop World Championships in Poland.

Over 60 dancers attended the audition and numerous video auditions were submitted. When teams were chosen to represent Canada, five Campbell River dancers made the cut: Aysha Alfred, Taylor Carson, Lola Duncan, Mikaela Garson, and Taylor Russell.

These dancers have been training at CR DanceXtreme Inc. since they were little and are currently members of CR DanceXtreme’s competition team, known as Showteam. Each season, these dancers train countless hours on their craft, and and their hard work and dedication has been rewarded by an opportunity to represent our country against the world’s best hip hop dancers.

Rehearsals begin this summer in Vancouver and the competition will be held from Oct. 23 – 28, in Kielce, Poland. You can watch these talented dancers perform their hip hop competition dances and many more at the Tidemark Theatre when they perform in two shows, “Sixteen Candles” (Thursday, June 15 at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 17 matinee at 1 p.m. and evening show at 6 p.m.) and “CRX’s Stars of Tomorrow” (Friday, June 16 at 7 p.m.).
