Gardeners Green Folk Music Club in Merville welcomes Jocelyn Pettit back for another house concert on Saturday at 7 p.m.

As those who were privileged to see her at Gardners Green last year will well remember, Pettit is a vibrant fiddle player, stepdancer, singer, and composer who leads her lively quartet with grace and passion. With a foundation rooted in the music of Cape Breton, Ireland, Scotland, and Québec, Pettit has been further drawn to explore other Celtic nations, including Brittany and Galicia, where she toured last summer. Embracing Canadian and Celtic traditions, she loves to perform and share her own spirited style.

Pettit has appeared on national television and radio; received multiple award nominations; shared the stage with Scottish legends, The Battlefield Band; and performed with Irish supergroup, The Chieftains. The Jocelyn Pettit Band has performed on stages across Canada, the U.S., Scotland, France, and Malaysia. She is currently working on a new album, and gearing up for a full summer of festivals and touring in British Columbia and Ontario, and returning to Europe to perform in France and Ireland.

The band includes Pettit’s parents Siew Wan Khoo (piano, fiddle) and Joel Pettit (bodhrán), with Bob Collins on guitar, all providing an upbeat and fun show of beautifully-performed music, song, and dance.

Tickets are $20 and include hot drinks and a dessert buffet. As this is a house concert, seating is limited and must be reserved in advance. Call 250-337-5337 for further information and to reserve your tickets.
