Maybe you child could dream up the next Spiderman or Superman.

Find out when the city’s Parks and Rec department hosts a course in comic book making. Create your own digital comic book complete with animation and sounds.

Students ages 8-18 will use iPods, iPads and laptops to create graphic novel characters, learn anime techniques, and they’ll have access to a variety of sample characters to tweak into their own production.

They will use GarageBand, iMove, Keynote, Comic and Animationish as well as learning to get the most of the adaptable camera features built into the devices. A project sample is online at www.westviewlearning.ca/digitalcomics.html

This program offered Tuesday through Friday, Aug. 14-17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Community Centre. Cost of the four-day program is $192.
