The Campbell River Arts Council has been awarded an Arts Based Community Development (ABCD) grant from the BC Arts Council.
This $5,000 investment has been announced in support of the Campbell River Arts Council’s ‘Crow Theatre’ Project.
“This is very exciting for Campbell River,” says the Arts Council’s Executive Director Ken Blackburn. “Crow Theatre has the potential to become a strong branding aspect of downtown revitalization.”
Crow Theatre is designed to be an outdoor street theatre using crow characters. It will compliment all existing downtown activities and has application across a number of formats, including a ‘Crow Crier’ (Town Crier), Crow Cops, Crow Puppet Theatre and performing Crow Street Antics.
Working on the development of Crow Theatre will be Heather Gordon Murphy in partnership with the Arts Council. The project aims to have the Crows ready for the summer tourist season, making surprise appearances throughout the downtown.
