The 2024 Art+Earth Festival will happen again this September.

The Campbell River Arts Council will once again present the Art+Earth Festival for three days this September.  On Sept. 21, 22 and 26, activities will take place at the Sybil Andrews Cottage, Walter Morgan Studio, Haig-Brown House and the Tidemark Theatre.

A cedar weaving workshop will be offered on Sept. 21 at the Sybil Andrews Cottage (2131 South Island Highway) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gail Stoller, a Wei Wai Kai artist, will lead the workshop, and focus on an introduction to traditional cedar weaving. Though the workshop is full, the public is welcome to drop by the Sybil Andrews Cottage to observe.

Also on the property that day, the Campbell River Plein Air Painters will be onsite from 12 to 4 p.m. in the cottage waterfront gardens to share their inspirations and imaginations. People are encouraged to come by and try it out.

The Walter Morgan Studio has an open house from 12 to 4 p.m., which will feature work from the Arts Council's artist in residence, Shawn Decaire. His gallery will show carvings. People can also chat with him about his culture, experiences, and is display, which will include 100 paddles created for Truth and Reconciliation Day (Sept. 30).

The Haig-Brown House will have events for their annual Haig-Brown Festival on Sept. 22. The Art+Earth Festival is sponsoring. Decaire will also be there, as will the Plein Aire Painters. The art will focus on Truth and Reconciliation Day.

Modern Biology, the stage name for Tarun Nayar, will be performing at the Tidemark Theatre on Sept. 26. He uses nature, synths and other analog equipment to make music. The pre-show talk will start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Tidemark Theatre.
