Those with a green thumb were not dissuaded by the weather, and turned up steadily to this year’s Seedy Saturday event.
The event was held on March 23 at the Sportsplex, and gardeners of all kids flocked to the annual gathering. Local vendors had seeds for sale, and programming providers were on hand to inform people about the various ways they can be involved in local food production and gardening.
The kids even had something to do, with a Little Sprouts Corner that let them get their hands dirty in the best way.
Local programs like the Vancouver Island Regional Library’s Seed Library, Greenways Land Trust, the Campbell River Farmers Market, and the Campbell River Food Map were all on hand to let people know about their programs.
