Rotary of Campbell River now accepting 2013 bursary applications

Application blanks may be obtained from school councilors or by going on the club's website

The Rotary Club of Campbell River, (Noon) has announced that it is now accepting applications for bursaries for the 2013 year.

The bursaries are awarded each year by the Campbell River Rotary Club Foundation. Application blanks may be obtained from school councilors or by going on the clubs Website at “campbellriverrotary.org/documents/Bursary_Application.pdf”. Click on the Club Business tab, then select Bursary Scholarship Application. Download the form, fill it out completely and mail to Chairman, Bursary Committee, Rotary Club of Campbell River, P.O. Box72, Campbell River BC, V9W 5Z9. Applications may also be dropped off at the Above Shore Dental Centre, attention of Dr. Bruce Woermke. Only hard copies of the application will be accepted. Deadline for the applications is June 15.

To qualify for a bursary, the applicant must be a graduate of a District 72 school.

Adults are considered and any type of advanced education will qualify, including trade and vocational schools and post graduate college education. Financial need is considered as well as scholastic abilities.

Funds for the bursaries are obtained from investment returns from the Foundation and from a portion of the Bingo funds earned by the club. Size of the bursaries are determined by the selection committee according to the funds available for distribution. Last year, nine bursaries of $1,000 each were distributed.
