Rick Warkentin, the Provincial Eagles president, asked that Eagles members throughout the province raise funds for AutismBC at a convention hosted by the Campbell River Chapter.

The convention was hosted on June 7 and 8.

In attendance was Suzanne Perreault, executive director of AutismBC. She was presented with a donation of $27,109.67.

"Initially speechless, Suzanne explained how the funds will change lives," said Catherine McKenzie, a member of the Campbell River Eagles. "On the autism spectrum herself, and with three autistic children, Suzanne's story of her AutismBC story prompted tears from many present, and impromptu donations from individuals ensued."

McKenzie says the values of AutismBC align with the Eagles' mission, which is "People helping people."
