PHOTOS: Celebrate Earth Day at the Campbell River Rotary community cleanup

Bear garbage? Litter drift? Storm-scattered waste and recycling? Whose garbage is it? If you live in Campbell River, you've seen garbage from all these sources – and more. But in the end, it doesn’t matter how it got there.

Bear garbage? Litter drift? Storm-scattered waste and recycling? Whose garbage is it?

If you live in Campbell River, you've seen garbage from all these sources – and more. But in the end, it doesn’t matter how it got there. What matters is that the community comes together to clean it up.

Join the Rotary Club of Campbell River on April 26 at 9 a.m. for a city-wide cleanup effort in celebration of Earth Day – part of the 6th Annual Small Planet Cleanup Contest, with over $10,000 in cash and prizes to be won! Whether you’re collecting roadside litter, beach debris, or storm-scattered recycling, every piece picked up brings us closer to a cleaner, healthier community.

Can’t make it on April 26? No worries! You can participate any time between now and April 30. Clean up your street, your favourite trail, or anywhere in the Comox Valley Regional District – your efforts still count, and you’ll be entered to win great prizes.

Need help getting trash to the landfill? Free tipping fee waiver forms – thanks to the generous support of the CVRD – are available for contest participants. If you’ve found a problem area or need help coordinating, contact contest organizer Tara Jordan at tara@smallplanetenergy.ca or call/text 250-202-7446.

Let’s come together for the planet, our town, and future generations. Grab your gloves, invite your friends, and help make this the biggest and best cleanup yet!
