When a 60th Birthday Party was being planned by friends of Joan Bakker it was her wish to not receive any gifts. Bakker requested that in lieu of presents, friends could donate to the Campbell River Hospice Society in her name.
As a result, donations made to the society on Bakker’s behalf amounted to $2,165. “I was ecstatic when I found out how much was donated to Hospice,” said Bakker. “I would like to send out a special thank you to Susan St. Paul for cooking up a feast and hosting my 60th Birthday Bash.
