The annual Harbour Day celebration is being hosted this Saturday, May 2 starting at 10 a.m. at Discovery Harbour Centre and Marina.

Harbour Day is a community celebration at Discovery Harbour Centre with activities on and off the water for kids, families and all to enjoy.

Harbour Day is featuring a Lifestyle Show with RVs, trailers, vehicles and trucks, and industrial equipment, located next to A&W.

On site at Discovery Harbour, there will be several family activities including Doco El Paso train ride, touch pools by Discovery Passage Aquarium, face-painting and Captain Thunderpants performances at 11 a.m. and 1p.mm

As well, the pirates are back.

Campbell River Whale Watching and Discovery Harbour Fuel Sales will also host free 20 minute Wildlife Zodiac Tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hop in a zodiac with Campbell River Whale Watching’s expert tour guides and enjoy a spectacular ride in Discovery Passage.

This year by the Target building, a special addition by popular request, Stormin’ Norman’s Outdoor Paintball Arena will be on site from noon till 6 p.m.

All gear is provided – safety gear, equipment and paintballs. This activity is low impact and great for ages six and up. Contact the Harbour Day Coordinator at 250-203-1880 for more information and to register your group.

99.7 The River will be hosting the Annual Treasure Chest Hunt from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. – with four different stops throughout Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre.

To play, drop by any participating retailer and ask for your Pirate Chit – Argg Matey! Then be of the first 100 people to find 99.7 on site during the Treasure Chest Hunt, and you’ll exchange your Pirate Chit for a key to unlock the Treasure Chest. One key will open the chest … there are incredible prizes to be won this year.
