Have you always wanted to write a book about your family history but not sure of where to start?
The Education Committee of the Campbell River Genealogy Society invites the public to their next meeting to hear guest speaker Jeanette Taylor, a well known local author and member of the society. She is the former assistant curator at the Campbell River Museum and executive director of the Campbell River Art Gallery, has four books in publication, River City, Exploring Quadra Island, Tidal Passages and The Quadra Story.
Currently, Taylor is CEO of The Scribes, Comprehensive Writing Services, a collective specializing in writing, editing and design for history, biography, autobiography and memoirs.
The topic of her presentation as guest speaker at the Genealogy meeting will be “Transform Your Research into Dynamic Stories.” This free presentation will be of particular interest to anyone who may be currently researching their family history and is interested in getting it into story form.
The meeting is slated for Feb. 6, upstairs in the Thulin Room of the Maritime Heritage Centre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
