The Klahoose Wilderness Resort has been named one of the top seven places to stay in Canada by National Geographic.
“Where you lay your head during your Canadian vacation is about much more than the size of the bed or plumpness of the pillows. These seven lodgings, from Newfoundland to British Columbia, help visitors find authentic culture and inspiring adventures.” National Geographic says ahead of its listing.
The resort was also named the best for Indigenous Culture, and was the only B.C. location on the list.
“It means a great deal to including as one of the best places to stay in Canada” said Chris Tait, Tourism Manager for Klahoose Wilderness Resort. “Since 2021, our Klahoose team continues to set the bar higher, sharing authentic Indigenous culture with wildlife viewing at the all-inclusive resort. This recognition allows us to extend our invitation to travellers from around the world who seek purposeful authentic travel experience"
The magazine listed the wildlife experts, boat expeditions, and Indigenous cultural ambassadors as reasons for their choice, saying that "the resort is owned entirely by the Klahoose First Nation, and money spent here supports preservation and protection of the land and its people.”
The remaining locations were Fogo Island Inn in Newfoundland, Wander The Resort in Ontario, the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto, the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal, Glacier View Lodge in Alberta, and the Muir Hotel in Halifax.
