Hughes, Boeser among Canucks to surprise Penticton firefighters

Canucks are in Penticton until Sunday, Sept. 22

It wasn't an ordinary day at work for members of the Penticton Fire Department and BC Ambulance on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The Vancouver Canucks visited the fire hall and the local ambulance station after their first day of training camp in the city.

Captain Quinn Hughes, Brock Boeser, JT Miller and Tyler Myers were among those to honour the local service members.

"Giving thanks to those that protect our province," the Canucks wrote on social media, in reference to the players' visit.

The Canucks kicked off Day No. 2 of the training camp on Friday morning, Sept. 20.

Vancouver will hold on-ice sessions through Saturday, before inviting fans to catch a team scrimmage on Sunday.
