Tickets for the Campbell River Hospital Foundation’s lottery are going fast and those who would still like a ticket are urged to scoop one up quickly.

With one month of successful ticket sales nearly complete, the Hospital Foundation is pleased with the response so far for this year’s Because You Care, Lottery.

Carly Pisterzi, the Hospital Foundation’s event and communications director, says people from across B.C. have stepped up to support health care in Campbell River.

“We have seen a remarkable rise in early support from various parts of the province, especially from the Mainland,” Pisterzi says.

With only 2,500 total tickets, Campbell Riverites are encouraged to buy as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and to show their support.

Funds from this year’s lottery will be used to purchase two pieces of life saving equipment.

The first is a Transport Incubator which will be used by the Campbell River Hospital’s Maternity Department to safely transport newborn babies needing care in other hospitals.

The second is a Portable Ultrasound Unit which assists the Emergency Department to evaluate and treat patients quickly and effectively.
