The Campbell River Shrine Club made a special visit to the maternity department recently to deliver a substantial donation towards the purchase of a birthing bed.

On average, 400 babies are born in the Campbell River Hospital each year and an infant Stabilette is present at each birth.

Maternity birthing beds are designed to help ensure that moms have the best possible birthing experience; made both for moms-to-be and for labour and delivery nurses, this bed will offer outstanding patient comfort, flexible support features, simple operation and improved mobility. The cost of a Stabilette is $25,200.

Shriners are a brotherhood of men committed to family, engaged in ongoing personal growth, and dedicated to providing care for children and families in need. Their backgrounds and interests are diverse, but they are bound together by shared values and a desire to have fun, do good and build relationships that can last a lifetime.

The Campbell River Hospital Foundation accepts donations towards equipment for the hospital online at www.crhospitalfoudnation.ca or by phone, 250-850-2418.
