This past giving season for Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North was a bit more special thanks to three community partners –  Walmart Campbell River, Walmart Courtenay and Coastal Black Winery who joined Habitat in their campaign, “Raise a Little Help.” Walmart graciously invited its customers at the till to donate to Habitat.

Through November, more than $7,000 was raised towards building a duplex in Campbell River.

At Coastal Black Winery in Black Creek, during the annual Coastal Black Christmas, local businesses decorated Christmas trees which were on display for the month of December. These beautiful trees raised $2,750 for Habitat and some much needed awareness about Habitat and the work they do in both Campbell River and the Comox Valley.

“Habitat for Humanity is grateful to have strong community supporters such as Coastal Black and Walmart. Through our partnership they contributed towards providing local families with safe, decent and affordable homes,” says Tom Beshr, resource development with Habitat. “Thank you from us and our families to you and yours.”
