Pink Shirt Day is coming on Wednesday and Timberline Student Advocates are doing several things to support the Anti-bullying message.
Pink Shirt Day started as a protest against bullying incident at a Nova Scotia high school. Supporters wear pink to symbolize a stand against bullying.
Timberline’s actions include:
- ordering Pink T-Shirts for the Student Advocates and for interested staff.
- doing 10 PSA scripts performed by our Student Advocates for the River radio station to aired before Feb. 27.
- sending a group of students to an elementary school to do readings of anti-bullying children’s books - donating the book to the school/class afterwards.
- producing anti-bullying buttons produced by students using the school district’s button making machine.
- showing anti-bullying PSA’s on in-school live morning announcements.
- sending videos to Parry Aftab’s national anti-bullying campaign.
- applying for two of the Ministry of Education anti-bullying grants.
- having anti-bullying as an in school theme for Safe Schools and Social Responsibility for Dec/Jan.
