Ecole Willow Point is the lucky beneficiary of a grant program through Capital Power.

The Capital Power EmPowering Communities Volunteer grant provides an opportunity to employees who have contributed a minimum 35 hours of volunteer time in a year to request that Capital Power make a $500 donation to a community service organization of their choice.

Recently Greg Manzulenko, a Capital Power plant manager at Island Generation Facility and a community volunteer, applied for an EmPowering Communities Volunteer Grant and recommended Ecole Willow Point Parents Advisory Committee receive the $500 donation.

Manzulenko presented two members of the school’s Parent Advisory Council executive with the cheque on Jan. 9.

Capital Power employees try to make their communities better through volunteering.   Capital Power’s EmPowering Communities program recognizes the gifts of time, skills and talents that Capital Power employees give to the communities in which they live and work.
