Members of the BraveHearts and River Spirit dragon boat teams met with Iona Wharton and Julie Collis, Directors for Campbell River Hospice, to present a cheque for $3,508.10.
The funds were raised at the teams’ Race the River dragon boat regatta on June 28. Much of the total came from proceeds from the Marine Harvest salmon barbecue and sales of carnations donated by Quality Foods for the carnation ceremony at the annual event.
“We are very proud to make this donation to Hospice,” said BraveHearts president, Marlene Wocks. “And it is the continuous support of the entire community of Campbell River that makes our event successful and allows us to do this.”
