Pottery instructors Joan Grimm and Jacquie Clark begin a series of lessons this month at the Community Centre.

Thinking about learning to sew? Or maybe molding clay is more to your liking. Take crafty action at the Community Centre!

Sewing Basics with Sylvia Dutch will teach the techniques to make your project look “hand-made”, not “homemade.” The next Sewing Basics classes run 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, from Mar. 5 to Apr. 9. Cost for six classes is $126.

If you’ve never tried working with clay, give Pottery for Everyone a try. Pottery instructors Joan Grimm and Jacquie Clark strive to make it easy while focussing on fun. A wide variety of techniques will be taught, including pinch pots, slab work, sculpting and wheel work. Classes provide enough clay to make several projects. All pottery classes are open to people aged 14 years and up.

Pottery for Everyone runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays from Feb. 26 to Apr. 23, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays from Feb. 27 to May 8.

Cost is eight classes for $160, or $155 for teens and 50+ members.
