Mayor Andy Adams joined Scouts Canada Area Commissioner John Robilliard, Pathfinder Owl Mulholland, Beaver Scout Jake Campbell, Brownie Raven Mulholland, Scout Coyote Mulholland and Cub Scout Owen Knudson for a flag raising ceremony at Campbell River City Hall on Monday.

The mayor – involved in Scouts as a youth from Cubs to Venturers himself – was marking Scouts-Guides Week in Canada, which begins the Sunday before Feb. 22 and ends the Sunday after. February is a special month for Scouts and Girl Guides worldwide. Each year both movements celebrate Feb. 22; the birthday of Scouts founder, Lord Robert Baden-Powell and his wife, the World Chief Guide, Lady Olave Baden-Powell. The Scout flag will fly for half of the week and the Guide flag for the rest.
