What could be more topical for B.C. right now than an examination of LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) practices and the extraction method of ‘fracking’?
The Museum at Campbell River is pleased to present the last in a series of lectures by the 2014 Haig-Brown Writer in Residence, Andrew Nikiforuk.
The lecture will be held on March 29, from 1-3 p.m.
The subject will be ‘ Fracking and the LNG Gold Rush.’
“The extreme nature of the resource, as well as the brute force technology (horizontal hydraulic fracturing) needed to extract it, will likely humble government plans and economic forecasts,” Nikiforuk says.
Nikiforuk will present an overview of the critical issues surround LNG and its implications for the citizens of British Columbia.
