The Campbell River Seniors’ Centre Society concluded its fiscal year by electing a new slate of officers before a packed house at the Sportsplex Jan. 28.

Elections were held during the society’s Annual General Meeting and there will be only three returnees from the 2013 board.

At the same time, the society also presented its financial reports and concluded the business of the outgoing board.

The goals of the new board include further discussion with City of Campbell River staff to unite the society’s seniors with the city-managed 50+ seniors group; extending both the amount of time and space made available to the Society at the Sportsplex and the Community Centre to accommodate new activities; as well as pursuing further discussions with the city to obtain a permanent location for the seniors of their own.

These goals were greeted enthusiastically by the members present.
