Brind’Amour/Nugent-Hopkins Golf Classic resumes the fight against cystic fibrosis in Campbell River June 16

Rod Brind’Amour, the new head coach of the Carolina Hurricanes, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins , Edmonton Oilers forward, and Kyle Bukauskas, reporter for Sportsnet, will be joining forces on June 16 to help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

Jo-Ann Wallis, president of the local CF chapter said, “We are excited and honoured that these three incredible individuals take time out of their busy lives to come and help us out with our event.”

The Brind’Amour/Nugent-Hopkins Golf Classic will take place at Storey Creek Golf Course with the dinner and auction at the Campbell River Sportsplex. Quay West is catering the dinner and Jason Fitzgerald will be the auctioneer.

Kim Wood who has cystic fibrosis and got the Brind’Amour/Nugent-Hopkins golf classic going with a letter to Brind’Amour more than 22 years ago, said, “I am more than grateful to Rod and Ryan for all they have done and continue to do to help in the fight against CF. Their support encourages me to keep believing a cure will be found. While advances in CF care have made it possible for me to be here today there is still no cure and that is what we need. By lending their support Rod, Ryan and Kyle are helping in a big way and it is making a difference for people with CF.”

The golf is sold out but there are a few dinner tickets left. For information about dinner tickets contact Bev at 250-287-8600.
