Volunteers from Campbell River Garden Club and Communities in Bloom Committee present Campbell River to the BC Blooms Horticultural Show

Volunteers from Campbell River Garden Club and Communities in Bloom (CiB) Committee are teaming up to present Campbell River to the BC Blooms 2012 Horticultural Show in Victoria on today and tomorrow.

This event, organized by the Friends of Government House Gardens and Government House, will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth ll and the 20th Anniversary of the volunteer Friends. In addition to garden clubs’ exhibits there will be a judged flower and vegetable show under the big tent, garden lectures, tours, a historic costume museum, face painting and seed planting, beautiful flower displays by floral designers, large land art floral structures around the grounds, and some veggies and plants for sale.

“This is a unique opportunity to promote Campbell River, our supporting businesses and institutions and the community work of both the Garden Club and the CiB volunteers,” said Malcolm Wilson, the team’s spokesman. Campbell River’s display couples the national award winning 2011 CiB entry with presentations on the Garden Club and the CiB program’s many local supporters and sponsors.
