Black Creek is getting ready to host its first annual Midsummer Celebration this Saturday.

The outdoor event features live music from Corwin Fox of Cumberland, Courtenay singer-songwriter Joey Clarkson, and Juno-winner Helen Austin.

Families are invited to ring in the first day of summer with salmon burgers, local beer and mead, fire spinning, flower head-wreath making, and lots of kids activities.

On the beautiful acres at the Black Creek Comunity Centre (2001 Black Creek Rd.), Midsummer Celebration runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for children and $25 for a family pass. All profits go towards cultural and recreational programming for children and adults.

Tickets are available by calling the Black Creek Community Centre at (250)337-5190 or visit  www.facebook.com/blackcreekcommunitycentre for details.
