The annual Train Show at the Museum at Campbell River is coming soon, and this is an event you won’t want to miss.

In past years this show has attracted huge crowds to see the impressive displays of model trains and ‘Icats’.

‘Icats’ stands for Island Construction and Trucking Show, which displays remote controlled heavy equipment such as front end loaders and excavators.

The North Island Model Railroaders will be displaying operating HO Scale trains and Garden Scale trains with detailed arrangements of equipment, scenery and miniature buildings.

“This has to be one of the most fun events we do all year,” says Ken Blackburn, programmer for the museum.

“It a delight to see the wonder and awe on the faces of entire families.

“And I know that the clubs involved have some new equipment to display this year,” Blackburn adds.

The train show has something for everyone, from toddlers to seniors.

It will run on Jan. 30 from noon to 5 p.m. and Jan. 31 from noon to 4 p.m.

The cost is $7 per person or $20 for the whole family.  Kids under six are free.
