Crowds will gather at the Discovery Pier parking lot every sundy beginning May 5 for the Pier Street Farmers Market and Arts Fair.

There’s less than two weeks until the opening of the Pier Street Farmers Market and Arts Fair, Sunday May 5 in the Discovery Pier parking lot.

This year promises to be even more fun.  There’ll be more local farmers plus more attractions, more things to see and do.

“We’re still promoting our lunch menu,” says manager Jim Creighton.

“Our lunches have been a big hit, a real bistro atmosphere.  People like to sit down and relax with some fresh food.  And there’s so much more,” he says.  “We’ve got more farmers coming out this season, which is a blessing.  Lots of fresh produce, beef, lamb, chicken, local honey, fresh sausage, you name it.  Customers will have a larger selection, plus all of the preserves and fresh baked goods.”

Special events will enhance the schedule, with Kids’ Day, Family Day, Hat Day, and Seniors’ Day, complete with associated entertainment.

“Our board of directors wants the best Sunday event in Campbell River,” says Jim, “and we’re doing our best, for 22 weeks in a row.

“There’s our weekly musical entertainment, plus the best arts and crafts show on the Island, plus lots of unadvertised attractions.

Something different each week.”

The market will be open every Sunday from May through September,

From 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., so there’s lots of time to stroll after church.

If the parking lot is full, then just park down the street and take a short walk.

Come down and meet your friends on Sundays.
