Free workshop helps businesses get on board new hospital project

The workshop is being held to assist and support businesses that are planning on attending the upcoming Industry Speed Dating session

Make a perfect pitch with the help of the  Campbell River Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber is hosting a free workshop with tips and suggestions on how businesses can prepare themselves to present their company to the three bid proponents for the north island hospital project.

The workshop, Perfecting Your Pitch, will take place Thursday from 11:30 a.m. till 1 p.m. and pre-registration is required.  Space is limited so businesses are encouraged to register early. Interested businesses can register through the Chamber’s website at  www.campbellriverchamber.ca/events.

The workshop is being held to assist and support businesses that are planning on attending the upcoming Industry Speed Dating session taking place in Campbell River on May 27 and Comox Valley on May 28.

At those sessions, businesses who have successfully registered for a speed dating session will have only four minutes with each of the North Island Hospital Project three bidding teams, to introduce their company, service, unique attributes and how their services fit with the project and shortlisted proponent.  “The four minutes are timed by a time keeper so businesses have to be well prepared and make the best use of the limited time they have with each of the three bidding teams, says Colleen Evans, Campbell River Chamber President.”  “We want to help our businesses prepare and compete so at the workshop we’ve included ideas on how best to prepare and suggestions on what they should include in the electronic package they leave with the bid proponents, further comments Evans. Businesses do not have to attend the workshop to register for the Industry Speed Dating session but there is only one Perfecting Your Pitch workshop planned for Campbell River at this time.

The Industry Speed Dating events take place later on in May with one being held in Campbell River on May 27th and in Comox Valley on May 28.  Any business who wants to attend must pre-register. Registration opened May 13th and will continue until the two sessions at each location are filled.  Registration to attend one of the Industry Speed Dating events is through the Campbell River Chamber’s Major Projects Portal at cr.majorprojects.ca.
