Ron and Kim Hamilton show off their invention with the team that inspired it

Campbell river couple Kim and Ron Hamilton and their dog Teddy will appear on Dragon’s Den Jan. 28 on  CBC with their new invention K9 Clean Portable Pet Shower.

For the Hamiltons, K9 Clean was developed out of necessity for showering off the dirt, mud and sand that their dogs would inevitably pick up during the course of their daily walks.

“I don’t want to worry about my dogs getting dirty when we walk them and now I don’t because once we get back to the van it’s just so easy to hang K9 Clean and shower the dirt and sand away. The dogs enjoy the warm water and I find it a bonding moment with them, after they get clean I get to towel down their bodies which makes them feel good. It’s also great to rinse the mud off our boots before getting in the van,” Kim Hamilton said.

“I like the fact that it helps with keeping the floors, couch and bed clean. We allow our dogs on the furniture, they’re part of the family,” Ron said.

“K9 clean is useful all year long, during the summer we use it to shower the sand off the dogs from the beach or lake. We’ve also had people say it’s great to rinse the sand off the familys feet and flipflops helping to keep sand out of the car,” Kim added.

Ron and Kim have their own website with information on other useful ways to use K9 Clean: portablepetshower.com or k9clean.com.

As far as the outcome on Dragon’s Den? Well you just have to watch. Secrecy rules prevent the hamiltons from divulging what happens.

“We really wanted to do campbell river proud, we love this town and people have been very supportive,” Kim said.

You can get K9 Clean at local pet stores or checkout our website for other retailers.
