Vancouver Island Realtors who had gone beyond the call of duty in their various communities were recognized by their peers at a special ceremony Friday.
As part of the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board’s (VIREB) Realtor Awards and Past President’s Gala, five Realtors became recipients of the Realtor Care Award for 2011, while Gabriola’s Jennifer Lynch received the Realtor of the Year Award for 2011.
Nominated by VIREB members, but selected by an independent panel of judges, the Realtor Care Award winners were Campbell River’s Byron Maier (RE/MAX Check Realty), Don McClintock (RE/MAX of Duncan), Kari Knutson (Royal LePage of Parksville-Qualicum Beach), Gerry Hickey (Coast Realty Group – Port Alberni) and Ian Thompson (RE/MAX of Nanaimo). The Realtor Care Awards are one of the highest honors VIREB can bestow on its members and are presented to those individuals whose dedication to excellence influences the quality of life in the communities they serve. An additional part of the celebrations saw Jennifer Lynch with Coast Realty Group’s Gabriola Island office win the coveted Realtor of the Year Award. She won for her commitment to a variety of community programs and activities. The quintet of Realtor Care Award winners had been involved in community programs.
