Campbell River Hyundai
The Brand new Campbell River Hyundai has been open since December 2014. Our dealership was located on Coulter road in a leased building, behind another dealership with no highway exposure. Scott Kilby purchased the Hyundai franchise in 2009 with Gary and Darnell Thulin. After successfully increasing sales, service, parts sales and customer retention in 2012, Scott was able to purchase 100% of shares of Campbell River Hyundai. Then the hard work began of searching for a new home for the CR Hyundai dealership. The Thuiln family along with Allison and Scott Kilby purchased a 9 acre parcel of land on Meredith road/ North Island Highway in January 2014. It was then after we received approvals from Hyundai Canada, City council and the environment department of the BC government, we started construction in June 2014. Then the phone call came in that changed everything, Hyundai Canada was going to change the Image of the dealership. Scott was given a choice to proceed with the current Image or be one of the first launch the new Image stores in Canada.
We decided to be leaders with Hyundai Canada, and move forward with the brand new Image from Hyundai. Our new Image is a huge success and we feel very happy and proud of our new location. Hyundai Canada is using our store to showcase the changes other dealership will need to complete and they call us the HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP THAT COULD.
Campbell River Veterinary Hospital
We are a small animal hospital that opened in 1976. Aside from being a full service veterinary hospital, we also offer pet boarding and dog grooming. We work with local rescue groups as well as the SPCA and the local feral cat groups.

Island Funeral Services
In 2000, after successfully establishing Comox Valley Funeral Home in Courtenay in 1993, Kent and Rosemarie Roduck, both licensed funeral directors expanded to Campbell River, opening an arrangement, pre-arrangement office at Georgie Quay. Kent and Rosemarie had been serving a number of Campbell River families from their Courtenay location so establishing a Campbell River office to better serve those families seemed logical.
In 2003, Island Funeral Services was approached by the City of Campbell River, asking if we would consider building a niche wall, since there appeared to be interest from the community and their budget was restrictive. Island Funeral Services not only agreed to assist the city by building the niche wall, but proposed to build a 2500 square foot building on the Elk Falls Cemetery, consisting of a committal and gathering area for “celebrations of life,” as well as funeral services and a scattering garden all conveniently located on the cemetery property, to enhance the niche walls. This full service facility to date, does not exist on any other municipal cemetery on Vancouver Island outside of Victoria.
Further expansion took place at Elk Falls, in 2014, when a new state of the art 400 niche columbarium project, the “Tranquility Garden” was completed, and dedicated by Deputy Mayor Ron Kerr in July as part of our public open house and tour.

She was later joined by business partners Don Andrews in 1988, and Dave Shook in 1997. Preston Jewellers
We have been in business here in Campbell River since 1975. The owner, Brian, has been an active member of the local Rotary club for almost as long.
The purpose of Preston’s is to supply current jewellery and accessories for our customers. We also offer repairs and services for jewellery and watches. Over the last 40 years, we’ve seen many trends come and go, and it’s always our desire to help keep people shopping local by finding what’s current and offering it here in Campbell River.
Through Rotary, Preston Jewellers has donated thousands of dollars of prizes and gifts towards fundraising for local projects. On top of this, Preston Jewellers donates to approximately 30 charities in Campbell River – some include MS, Cops for Cancer, Lyndon’s Legacy, local dragon boat racing teams, special Olympics, Camp Homewood, Lighthouse kitchen, Camryn’s cause.
Preston’s also donates towards international projects, through various NGO’s, sponsoring 6 children overseas at this time. Brian himself took over welding goggles and other safety supplies to Thailand shortly after the tsunami. He has also participated with Rotary in Peru distributing wheelchairs.
Kimberley participates on the Community Services Recreation and Culture Commission at present. In the past she has been involved in the torch relay promotion committee, amongst other various activities and events over the years.

Seymour Services is a Napa Autopro maintenance facility owned and operated by auto mechanics and service advisors Rob Kay and Loren Tabish. The company has serviced both import and domestic cars and light trucks for customers from Port Hardy to Nanaimo for over 30 years. Rob and Loren pride themselves on building trusted, long-term service relationships with their customers, and they stand firmly behind the work performed at their facility.
The shop is equipped with the most up to date service technologies and employs 5 highly skilled technicians who are licensed and regularly trained to ensure that they are fully updated on new model vehicles.

Sunrise Learning Centre
Sunrise Learning is a small business that provides tutoring to students in the Campbell River/Courtenay area. The two Learning Centres are locally owned and provide learning support to students from Kindergarten to Adult Education. Most students complete an assessment process for Math and/or Reading and Writing that determines their strengths and weaknesses.The results are then used to create an individualized program for each student. Certified teachers deliver the program in hourly sessions for students up to five hours a week. Students who need homework help or assistance preparing for exams do not require an assessment. Tuition is paid by parents, Autism or Asperger’s funding, or by First Nation Bands. The focus of the business is helping students reach their potential while providing support to families who may be having a tough time getting through the school system. Sunrise started when Sylvan Learning Centre left Courtenay. Both Centres are run through the Campbell River Office. Making a difference in the lives of young people has allowed Sunrise Learning to grow into a vibrant business.
