October 10, 1942-April 1, 2005

Passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in Campbell River General Hospital.

Ma will be sadly and greatly missed, but remembered with smiles and love, as a mother and friend to her children Treva, André and Tony. Yvonne was born in Vancouver General Hospital and lived the majority of her life in the city. After relocating to Campbell River, she fell in love with the area and was determined to reside nowhere else. Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved life partner Terry Milton; parents Robert and Jennie Phillips and brothers Garth, Ron, Barry and Wayne. Yvonne was well liked in the community, mostly due to her volunteer work in the Harm Reduction program of NIAC (North Island Aids Coalition), AVI (Aids Vancouver Island) and as a volunteer and board director for the Campbell River Alano Club was her passion. One of Yvonne’s greatest joys was to donate her time and energy canvassing for pledges and then her long lock of hair to the Cops for Cancer Tour De Rock. According to her wishes A Celebration of Yvonne’s Life will be held at the Campbell River Alano Club, 301-10th Ave., Campbell River, B.C. V9N 4E4. Arrangements entrusted to ISLAND FUNERAL SERVICES/ELK FALLS CREMATORIUM, 909 ISLAND HIGHWAY, CAMPBELL RIVER. In lieu of flowers, donations in Yvonne’s memory can be made to the Campbell River Alano Club.
