In Memory of Victor Ewasiuk

July 2, 1932 – January 25, 2009

You left us in peace with an unforgiving illness with your family by your side, our hearts splitting in two.

Predeceased by mother and father and 9 year old son, Dean. Born in Minnedosa, Manitoba, met and married a Neepawa girl, raised a family there. Moved to Thompson, Manitoba to become a miner and shift boss in the early 60s. Moved again from Inco to BC to be closer to family, shifting at Westmin. Soon known better as Grumpy Bear to all the men who worked at the mine.

Hobbies were baseball, curling and fishing. Loved his yard upon retirement more than ever. Was always busy building a fence or something. What was he like? Wife says rough around the edges but soft inside. Loved and cherished! As a father, kind and rare. Someone precious to his 6 grandchildren. Loved to sit and watch people. Got lots of practice in the malls on the benches waiting for grandma to shop and shop. He watched the Canucks on TV with some baked cookies, pies and cakes.

Behind he leaves his wife Beryl, 2 sons, Derek and Dana. Two daughters Carlyle and Leslie. Brothers Jack and Gerry and sister Annie. One niece Irma and nephews Greg, David and Phillip and their spouses.

This is the man we knew. A sad but sweet remembrance. So today, Jesus as you are listening, his wife, children and grandchildren Amy, Ashley, Jake, Vanessa, Jesse and Katie are asking, “would you go and find our loved one and give him all our love. Private family arrangements.
