Stan Cork

December 10, 1939 – March 19, 2008

It is with profound sadness that the family of Stan Cork announces his passing in Vancouver, BC following a courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his father, Leonard Cork, Stan leaves behind a loving family: Kathleen, his wife of 41 years, son Wayne (Alison) and daughters Liane, Laurie and Kimberly (Jay).

Stan leaves to celebrate his memory, his mother Beatrice Mitchell and mother-in-law Margaret Poole; brothers Dennis (Margret), Selmer (Diane) and Daryl (Eileen) Cork; chosen brothers Don Howat (Barrie) and Larry (Pat) Lundrigan; dearest sisters and brothers-in-law.

Grandchildren Patrick, Bradley, Payton, Melissa, Jessica, Braydon and Dane will fondly remember memories of Grandpa along with many nieces, nephews and their families.

Kathleen and the family would like to thank the ‘special’ doctors, nurses, medical professionals and staff at the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver. “Uncle Stan” brought humour and a new meaning to the word courage to all those who treated him with such compassionate, professional care.

We shall fondly remember our dear Stan and his life’s passion for work, his tweaking of workshop projects, enjoying Happy Hour with Kathleen, family and friends at the ocean shore, cheering on the home hockey team or hugging his precious grandchildren.

Stan, we will think of you at peace where in life you were most relaxed – hovering over your computer or at the business end of a boat with fishing rod in hand, skimming over the coastal waters you so dearly loved. We will miss you.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Stan’s memory to a charity of your choice.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
