It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Nana and Great-Nana. She is predeceased by her husband Harold, sisters Anne and Teeny, brothers Johnny and Bob. She is survived by her children Al (Lori), Cindy (Howie); grandchildren Kim, Chris (Nicole), Andrea (Darcy), Amy; great-grandkids Kris, Levi, Anna, Addy and sisters Helen, Freida and brother Jim.
Sandy had a great zest for life!. She was always on the go and did not like to sit still! She enjoyed curling, softball, crib, fishing, camping, horse races, her Canucks and BC Lions, going to the Bingo Palace (which she called the office) and spending all the time she could with her family.
She worked many years as a cashier at Super Valu and later at Co-Op. There was rarely a child who would enter the store who did not have her racing for the bulk bin to give them a cookie.
There are many people to thank and appreciate for all the kindness and love they have shown and given to her. Many thanks to the staff at the Casino who got to know her so well and would actually call her at home if she missed a couple of days as they worried about her. All the many touching comments on Facebook and thoughts, hugs and cards we have received.
As per her usual, Sandy was worried about everyone else right up to the end and made a point of sending her love to everyone. She was a very wonderful lady who was always full of life. She will be missed terribly and loved always.
No service by request, as per her wishes a private service will be held only.
