Sarah Julia Castle
October 1, 1932 – November 23, 2009
Passed peacefully away at the Campbell River General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is predeceased by her loving husband George Arthur, Sister Susan Pottle and brother Samuel Lucy.
Julia was born in Tessialuk, Labrador to John Thomas and Mary Ann Lucy. She met her husband George on the Labrador Coast and they were married in 1952 and moved to Mount Pearl, NL where they raised their family and resided there until 1970. They also resided in Wabush, Labrador, Stephenville, NL and Bathurst, NB. In 1986 they retired to Campbell River, BC. Julia lived life to the fullest and enjoyed travelling with her family. Julia leaves many cherished memories to her children Andy (Debbie) John (Linda) Don (Julie) Greg (Joan) Mary Ann (Kevin). Grandchildren Amanda (Doug) Michael (Tina) Paul (Krista) Yvonne (Romeo) Isabelle, Patricia and Alx. Great Grandchildren Connor, Emily, Shyla, Joshua and Alisia, Sister Elizabeth Tooktoshina, Nieces Myrtle Banfield (Herb), Claris Barron (David) and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends across the country.
Service will take place on Thursday, November 26, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church, Campbell River, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Spina Bifida Association of British Columbia, 4880 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V4, or a charity of your choice.
