Sandra Dayle Hume

May 13, 1948 ~ December 3, 2011

Sandra Dayle Hume (Nee Tilsley) passed away peacefully in Red Deer Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family

Dayle was born to Glen and Audrey Tilsley in Port Alberni, BC and attended Beaver Creek School and A.W. Neil. She met her “Sweetie” Jack Boles Hume in 1968 and they were married on January 24, 1970. Two children were to follow, Clinton and Cassandra, whom she loved and adored. After moving around a bit they settled in Campbell River, BC to raise their family and then followed their grown children to Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

Growing up on the West Coast Dayle loved fish but only recently discovered that she also loved fishing and often out fished everyone around. Dayle also had her “wild” side which included a love of Harley Davison Motorcycles, rock and roll music, and Ford Mustangs. While she never got to own her own motorcycle, she loved to motor around on her scooter and was finally able to purchase her own 1991 mustang convertible and ride with her “sweetie” top down and music blaring.

Dayle loved animals in general but really loved cats. Her favorite were Siamese cats and she spent the last few years fostering them for the Rocky ROAR Society.

Family though was the most important to Dayle and she loved to spend time with them at family dinners, camping and fishing at Open Creek Dam and Phyllis Lake. She also “adopted” many as her family and loved to stay in touch with them through her many letters and handmade cards. She thought constantly of others and will be missed by so many.

Dayle will be dearly missed by her husband Jack Hume; children Clinton (Leslie) Hume and Cassandra (Kevin) Hume; siblings Jack (Geneva), Bonnie, Brian (Sylvia), Greg (Lindy), Heather, Kevin and Glenda; as well as many nieces, nephews and adopted family.

A Service of Remembrance for Dayle will be held at the Kingdom Hall, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium.

As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made in Dayle’s name to ROAR Society,
