GRAVES, Robert- 86, passed away Feb. 10, 2017 in Campbell River, BC. He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons, Richard (Stella) and Alan (Susan); five grandchildren (Brendan, Liam, Alyssa, Carl and Michael); two great-grandchildren (Clare and Hadley); and a sister-in-law (Rita). He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Keith of Medicine Hat; and a daughter, Barbara, who died at birth.
Robert was born on Oct. 12, 1930 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia to Walter Manning and Alice (Bowes) Graves. He graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from Dalhousie University in 1951 with honours and two years later, became a member of the Association of Professional Engineers. He worked as a project engineer for the pulp mill in Campbell River from 1966 until he retired in 1982. He built his house, raised his family and completed many projects, including various boats, trailers and campers. He enjoyed the West Coast outdoors, fishing and hunting. His hobbies included photography, gardening and music.
