OLAF ECKERT
JUNE 26, 1945- April 13, 2010
It's with much sorrow that we announce the passing of Olaf Eckert on April 13th, 2010 in Campbell River. Beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by many. Olaf was born June 26th, 1945 in Berlin, Germany, and immigrated to Canada with his Father, Alfred Eckert, Mother, Ruth Eckert and younger brother Uwe Eckert. Olaf lived in Calgary for many years before moving to Nanaimo. Olaf's love of friends and the west coast lifestyle kept him in Nanaimo until very recently when he was diagnosed with Lung cancer. Olaf moved to New Horizons Community Care Home in Campbell River so he could be closer to his son Michael Eckert. Olaf will be missed by many. A Service was held for Olaf at the Campbell River Baptist Church, Saturday, April 17 at 2:30pm.
